This isn't just a leadership contest. It's a leadership crisis.
In just seven weeks Labour have shown who they work for - themselves and their union paymasters. They've abandoned any pretence that they lead for our whole country.
They're without principle or integrity, putting political cronies in power and lying to raise taxes.
My mission is to stop them. I am standing to lead our party and put government back at the service of the British people.
Our country, and our party, have been waiting too long for the leadership we need. We must act now.
We need something new. Someone different.
My leadership will put service first. It will be underpinned by discipline and governed by honesty. I will always say what I mean, and do what I say.
And that starts at home.
We need to remake Conservative Campaign HQ in Westminster around our members, activists and associations. We must remember who our Party serves - all of you, our members.
Our Party needs change. But first, we need to listen to our members.
For two centuries, our members have forged the Conservative Party into the most successful party the world has ever known. It's time the people who made that happen have their say on how their party changes to deliver victories in councils and parliaments.
